Dave Cornthwaite
Amongst other things he has paddleboarded the length of the Mississippi, skateboarded across Australia, swum 1001 miles, written three books, stayed awake for 72 hours in a row without turning crazy, and for years has tried in vain to get Nutella to sponsor his adventures. But will he give up? Never!
Cushe make shoes so comfortable you can fall asleep in them. And on them. And near them. The Swim1000 team was merrily decked out in Cushe gear throughout the Summer of 2012, as they descended the Missouri.
Team medic Dave Zaple is smiling for only one reason…
The other Dave, the swimmer, kept his Evo Web Canvas Sandals in the front watertight section of the raft he was towing as he swam. Whenever he got out of the water the first thing he did was remove his flippers and put on the Cushe!
Apart from flippers and barefeet, Dave wore nothing for the 58 day expedition except for his Cushe sandals. They still survive and he’s writing his next book book with them on!
